The school motto "Perseverance is Success" is not only a phrase but has become a way of life for the entire Carman family since 3rd March 1961. On this momentous day, set in the backdrop of the Himalayan ranges in the Doon valley, Carman was found by Mr. and Mrs. I.L.G. Mann.

Mr. I. L. G. Mann headed this institution ever since its inception in March 1961 till November 1986. He handed over the reins of Principalship to Mr. G. I. G. Mann on the 11th of November 1986. The school got its affiliation to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi for both Classes X and XII in 1991 and 1994 respectively...

The school is run by the Carman Residential & Day School Society, under the Society Act 1961. The institution is recognized by the Government as a Co-educational Anglo-Indian School and is open to all nationalities without reservation.
